I have to share this picture with you guys!

Bryan was not really taking this picture of me...he was taking it of the two guys behind me in full camo...fishing...on the beach...in full camo!
I'm sorry...but it makes me laugh!
It also makes me wonder... how many times do we try to camouflage ourselves when God really wants us to stick out? How many times do we forget that we are a vessle of God's love and the word of His Promise?

I do not hide your righteousness in my heart; I speak of your faithfulness and salvation. I do not conceal your love and your truth from the great assembly.
Pslam 40:10

101 things...#1

I was reading a book of 101 things about Jane Austen that a friend gave me for Christmas. I wouldn't say that the book was filled with 101 facts so much as a mixture of 101 facts, opinions and theories about Jane. At first I was alittle disappointed...I wanted facts... I like facts. But to tell you the truth I'm usually grateful for opinions... other peoples' opinions often help me pick up on facts that I hadn't even notice. For example, I heard someone say that when God clothed Adam and Eve he married himself to them. I would have thought that he married himself to them when he made them. However, researching that opinion I learned that in 1st century Hebrew to put your cloak on a woman was to marry her. Interesting...

All this to say that the book got me thinking of 101 "things" about myself that I would like to share with you or would like to learn about myself. Some "things" will be silly I'm sure...others maybe more serious. My hope is to learn something new about myself and to share what I find fun, interesting and important with you!

S0...#1

Contrary to my prior belief I don't hate all fish/seafood except for shrimp. This weekend Bryan and I bought Talapia from Ukrop's and baked it was a recipe that a man working there gave us. The fish was not very fishy and the texture wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. The recipe on the other hand was horrible and it turns out that I do not like things that are almost totally baked in mayonnaise (which could be #2 thing). All in all though... I'm glad I tried it and it has given me ideas for other ways to try Talapia baked.

I wanted to pass this very special posting on to everyone from http://psdamaska.blogspot.com/2010/01/using-rice-to-make-clean-water.html
in the wake of the past week and the events in Haiti, what a wonderful idea for families.

waiting......

I wait for the Lord, my soul waits, and in His Word I put my hope.
Psalm 130:5
This is becoming my "theme" for the year. I know that the picture does not match the verse completely, but I'm not a fan of waiting. Quite frankly this is how I feel about waiting. It's not that I consider myself an impatient person. But God has reveled somethings to me....and I don't want to wait.
But...
I know I must.
There is something magical about waiting on God though. To know that your hearts desires are in line with God's desires for you...
and to know that he is working out the details!
